Football Recap: O'Neill Takes a Loss + How To Watch

O'Neill started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Burke Catholic. They fell 21-14 to Burke Catholic on Friday. The Raiders gained 80 more yards on the day, but it was Burke Catholic that made the best use of them.

Despite the loss, O'Neill still got an impressive performance from Robert Trey Murphy, who rushed for 183 yards and one TD while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. Trey Murphy was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 59 yards.

Leading Burke Catholic to victory were Lucas Rodriguez-Lopez and Jayce Lee. Rodriguez-Lopez rushed for 39 yards and one score, while Lee picked up 97 receiving yards and one touchdown. Rodriguez-Lopez also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, defending one pass and snagged an interception. Marco Langley got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

O'Neill now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Burke Catholic, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, O'Neill will head out on the road to face off against Chenango Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Burke Catholic, they will welcome Monticello at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
