Baseball Recap: Chapel Hill Takes a Loss

Chapel Hill extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Heritage Huskies. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2025.

Chapel Hill saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Campos, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

As for Heritage, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games.

On Heritage's side, the team relied heavily on Leighton Cash, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Peyton Gilbert also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chapel Hill will welcome Cary at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Heritage, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Falls Lake Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
