Soccer Recap: Point Loma Takes a Loss

After flying high against La Jolla last Wednesday, Point Loma came back down to earth. The Point Loma Pointers fell 2-0 to the Cathedral Catholic Dons on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Pointers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 250th, while the Dons are ranked 61st).

Point Loma's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5-1. As for Cathedral Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5-2 record this season.

Point Loma has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against High Tech SD on the 27th. As for Cathedral Catholic, they will be playing at home against La Jolla at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cathedral Catholic is facing La Jolla at the right time seeing as La Jolla is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
