Softball Recap: Monument Valley Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Monument Valley had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 22-12 margin over the Window Rock Fighting Scouts. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Blessing Betsuie was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tayana Sherlock, who scored three runs while going 5-for-5.

Monument Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .595. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Monument Valley pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Window Rock, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

Monument Valley will have a chance to go back-to-back against Window Rock: the pair will be back at it again later today.
