Preview: Shanley Deacons vs. West Fargo Packers
After three games on the road, Shanley is heading back home. They will take on The West Fargo Packers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Shanley's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season.
Last Thursday, Shanley faced St. Mary's Central in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Shanley came out on top against St. Mary's Central by a score of 55-42. 55 seems to be a good number for Shanley as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Landon Meier had a dynamite game for Shanley, throwing for 334 yards and five touchdowns, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Busek, who picked up 94 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, West Fargo's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Minot 46-8.
Shanley's victory was their 13th straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 9-0. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.23 points. As for West Fargo, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Shanley against West Fargo in their previous matchup back in September as the squad secured a 57-14 victory. Will Shanley repeat their success, or does West Fargo have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
