Softball Game Preview: Blanchard Lions vs. Newcastle Racers

The Blanchard Lions will take on the Newcastle Racers on Thursday. Blanchard's pitching crew has only allowed 1.3 runs per game this season, so Newcastle's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

While Blanchard's win against Bethany wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lions had just enough and edged out the Bronchos 3-1. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Bronchos recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Newcastle earned a 6-3 win over Cache on Friday.

Newcastle's victory bumped their record up to 22-5-1. As for Blanchard, their win bumped their record up to 31-7.

Blanchard beat Newcastle 7-2 in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
