Baseball Recap: Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy Takes a Loss

Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the Rabun County Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Rabun County this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 last Tuesday.

Colt Clark put in work while hitting and pitching. He pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Clark was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy is 4-1 when Clark posts two or more runs, but 3-11 otherwise.

In other batting news, Travis Troha made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 4-11 when he doesn't). Mason Odom was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Rabun County, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-8.
