Football Recap: Wallace Wildcats vs. Paxton Tigers

There's no place like home for Wallace, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They strolled past the Paxton Tigers with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 44-25. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Tigers are ranked 104th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Tyson Sullivan, who rushed for 161 yards and five touchdowns on only 11 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 50 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Ashtin Johns also helped out as he racked up 102 rushing yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Wallace was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 265 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 172 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Wallace's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Teegan Cook was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.

When it comes to explaining why Paxton lost, don't look at Maddex Mcconnell. Despite the final result, he picked up 142 receiving yards, and also punched in one rushing score.
