Recap: Foothill Mustangs vs. Valley Vikings
The Foothill Mustangs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 60-30 victory over Valley. The win was some much needed relief for Foothill as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
It was another big night for Zeniah Thompson, who scored 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joyce Runner, who scored 11 points.
Despite the loss, Valley saw an underclassman step up: Jordyn Gibson scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. That was a full 60% of Valley's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Foothill's victory bumped their record up to 10-14. As for Valley, they dropped their record down to 6-21 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Foothill will face off against Johnson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Iris Vang and Thompson. As for Valley, they will be playing at home against Natomas at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
