Basketball Game Preview: Santa Ynez Pirates vs. Templeton Eagles

The Santa Ynez Pirates will head out to take on the Templeton Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Santa Ynez earned a 55-48 victory over Paso Robles. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Santa Ynez relied on the efforts of Rylan Agin, who went 7 of 15 on her way to 18 points, and Kylie Lapointe, who went 6 for 12 en route to 22 points. That's the most points Lapointe has posted since back in January of 2024. Lexi Molera was another key player, putting up six points and three steals.

Templeton played in conference for the first time on Friday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 34-31 win over Lompoc. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since December 26, 2024.

Santa Ynez's record is now 14-9. As for Templeton, their record is now 12-13.

Santa Ynez came out on top in a nail-biter against Templeton in their previous meeting back in January, sneaking past 43-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Santa Ynez since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
