Basketball Recap: Burton Comes Up Short

Burton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 74-5 defeat at the hands of the WISH Academy Owls. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Scorpions of the 74-11 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Kourtney Woodruff went supernova for WISH Academy, putting up 30 points. Kailey Leon was another key player, posting 16 points.

Burton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for WISH Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.

Burton will be playing at home against Animo Watts at 12:15 p.m. on Friday. As for WISH Academy, they will face off against Animo Venice at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both have allowed few points on average, (Animo Venice: 28.1, WISH Academy: 24) so any points scored will be well earned.
