Soccer Game Preview: Jasper County vs. Towers

The Jasper County Hurricanes will square off against the Towers Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Towers took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Jasper County, who comes in off a win.

Towers better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Jasper County really gets things going. Jasper County's defense stepped up to hand Utopian Academy for the Arts a 7-0 shutout on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Hurricanes, who have now won three matchups by six goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Towers fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Lamar County on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans. Having soared to a lofty seven goals in the game before, the Titans couldn't push the score so high this time.

The loss snapped Towers' winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-2 record. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those three games. As for Jasper County, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
