Basketball Game Preview: Irvine Vaqueros vs. Laguna Beach Breakers

The Irvine Vaqueros will face off against the Laguna Beach Breakers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Irvine was able to grind out a solid win over Northwood, taking the game 51-38. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vaqueros.

Meanwhile, Laguna Beach strolled past University with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 48-30.

Laguna Beach found their leader in freshman Fiona McCormick, who posted 23 points. Kate Cheng was another key player, putting up nine points.

Irvine's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Laguna Beach, their win bumped their record up to 14-8.

Everything came up roses for Irvine against Laguna Beach when the teams last played back in December of 2015, as the squad secured a 61-29 victory. Does Irvine have another victory up their sleeve, or will Laguna Beach turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
