Softball Recap: Grayson Gets the Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Grayson ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over Newton. Grayson has seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Newton, too.

The win made it two in a row for Grayson and bumps their season record up to 5-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Newton, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Grayson will head out on the road to face off against Dacula at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season. As for Newton, they will take on Athens Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
