Recap: North Hills Indians vs. St. Joseph Spartans
If the North Hills Indians were riding high off their 78-43 takedown of the Ellwood City Wolverine on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. North Hills fell just short of St. Joseph by a score of 61-58. North Hills was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as St. Joseph apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
St. Joseph got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Julie Spinelli out in front who scored 21 points along with 6 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Spinelli has scored at least 25% of St. Joseph's points. Gia Richter was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with 5 rebounds.
North Hills' loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for St. Joseph, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Hills will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hempfield Area at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th. As for St. Joseph, they will head out on the road to face off against Kiski Area at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
