Softball Recap: Atkinson County Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Atkinson County's offense. They lost 12-0 to the Lanier County Bulldogs on Thursday. If the Rebels were looking for revenge after losing 12-0 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Atkinson County dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Lanier County, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2.

Atkinson County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 15-2 win against Montgomery County on the 2nd. As for Lanier County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-0 victory against Brooks County on the 2nd.
