Football Recap: Tyler Legacy Takes a Loss

Tyler Legacy extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 2-6. They were dealt a 63-20 loss at the hands of the Longview Lobos. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 191st, while the Lobos are ranked 30th).

Despite the defeat, Tyler Legacy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Bam White rushed for 84 yards and three touchdowns.

As for Longview, they now have a winning record of 4-3. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

JOHNNY HAMILTON was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 302 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 65 yards and one score on only eight carries. Those 302 passing yards gave him a new career-high. MASON WASHINGTON was another key player, rushing for 74 yards and three touchdowns.

Tyler Legacy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 39-15 loss against Rockwall on the 23rd. As for Longview, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 31-7 win against Rockwall-Heath on the 24th.
