Soccer Game Preview: Walnut vs. La Serna

The Walnut Mustangs will wrap up 2025 with a road trip to face off against the La Serna Lancers at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Walnut fell victim to Claremont and their airtight defense on Friday. They lost 5-0 to the Wolfpack. Walnut have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Meanwhile, La Serna also failed to score in their most recent game. They fell 2-0 to Sonora on Monday. While losing is never fun, La Serna can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 593rd, while Sonora are ranked 18th).

Walnut's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3-3. As for La Serna, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
