Basketball Recap: Classical Academy Takes a Loss

The Classical Academy Caimans didn't have quite enough to beat the Coronado Islanders on Saturday and fell 35-32. While the Caimans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Islanders 11-6 in the first quarter.

Coronado found their leader in sophomore Gabby Fichter, who posted 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Guymon, who had eight points.

Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Coronado, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Classical Academy will venture away from home to square off against Guajome Park Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Coronado and Canyon Crest Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
