Basketball Recap: Ceres' Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Ceres was the 44-36 winner over Pacheco when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Ceres Bulldogs took a 54-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pacheco Panthers.

Despite the loss, Ceres still got an impressive performance from Lilly Staggs, who posted 24 points and five steals. Staggs is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Arrayah Stallworth, who earned eight points along with nine boards and five steals.

Pacheco's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mary Tava, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Tava's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sasha Siemiller, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Ceres' loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-5. As for Pacheco, they pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Ceres will welcome Grace Davis at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Grace Davis will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Ceres surely won't give up without a fight. As for Pacheco, they will square off against Beyer at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
