Softball Game Preview: Academy for Classical Education Gryphons vs. Taylor County Vikings

The Academy for Classical Education Gryphons will take on the Taylor County Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Academy for Classical Education's offense. They lost 8-0 to Veterans on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Gryphons' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Taylor County took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. They never let Manchester get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Academy for Classical Education's loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-2. As for Taylor County, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.

Everything went Academy for Classical Education's way against Taylor County when the teams last played back in September of 2019, as Academy for Classical Education made off with an 8-0 win. Will the Gryphons repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
