Football Recap: Goessel Takes a Loss

Goessel fell victim to Ell-Saline and their airtight defense on Friday. They were outmatched by the Cardinals and fell 50-0. If the Bluebirds were looking for revenge after losing 58-8 to the Cardinals when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Leading Ell-Saline to victory were Kas Kramer and Reese Krone. Kramer rushed for 108 yards and three TDs on only 12 carries, while Krone rushed for 55 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries. Kramer is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Goessel dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Ell-Saline, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Coming up, Goessel will square off against Canton-Galva on Friday. The Bluebirds will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 40 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Ell-Saline, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Central Plains at 7:00 p.m. The Cardinals will need to watch out since the Oilers have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups.
