Volleyball Recap: Rockmart Comes Up Short

Rockmart was the 2-1 winner over Murray County when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Yellowjackets fell 2-0 to the Indians on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Rockmart was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Murray County work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 26-24.

Amazia Christopher paced Rockmart's offense, picking up four kills. Christopher got some help from Kimberlyn Pavon and her three assists. Christopher was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Rockmart's loss dropped their record down to 11-29. As for Murray County, their win ended a four-match drought on the road and puts them at 12-21.

Rockmart didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Cedartown on the 1st. As for Murray County, they will head out to face off against Ringgold at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
