Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Verdugo Hills). Everything went their way against the Chavez Eagles on Friday as the Verdugo Hills Dons made off with a 5-0 victory. Given the Dons' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 341st, while the Eagles are ranked 1084th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Verdugo Hills hit Chavez with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Amy Valdez (2), Julianna Sarabia, Sophia Silveira, and Paola Moreno.

The win made it two in a row for Verdugo Hills and bumps their season record up to 9-5-1. As for Chavez, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-9-2.

Verdugo Hills has already played their next contest (against North Hollywood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Chavez will square off against Poly at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th.
