Basketball Recap: Gilroy Comes Up Short

Gilroy lost against Del Mar back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Gilroy Mustangs fell 50-40 to the Del Mar Dons. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

It was another big night for Zoey Hinkle, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 15 rebounds for Del Mar. Hinkle's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Georgianna Kargbo, who posted six points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Gilroy's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Del Mar, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gilroy will square off against Independence at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Del Mar, they will face off against Oak Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
