Softball Recap: Gretna East's Undefeated Season over After Six Games

Gretna East saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell just short of the Westview Wolverines by a score of 2-1. The matchup marked the Griffins' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Kendall Johnson was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Aubrey Horst made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. Charlotte Beach was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one double.

Having lost for the first time this season, Gretna East fell to 5-1. As for Westview, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Coming up, Gretna East will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Waverly at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Westview, they will square off against Millard West at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
