Baseball Recap: Marion Comes Up Short

Marion extended their losing streak to nine on Saturday, dropping them down to 2-18. They lost 11-1 to the Lafayette Jefferson Bronchos. That's two games in a row now that the Giants have lost by exactly ten runs.

As for Lafayette Jefferson, they moved to 10-12 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. They not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 18th (when they won 18-1).

For Lafayette Jefferson's part, Brady Biggs tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Biggs a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Mason Pechin was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Aidan Holle, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

While Marion had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
