It was a good run, but Pike County unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Sonoraville Phoenix by a score of 3-2. The Pirates were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Phoenix's pitchers proved too tough.

Pike County's defeat dropped their record down to 22-5. As for Sonoraville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 24 of their last 25 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Pike County nor Sonoraville have any future games scheduled.
