Softball Recap: Moffat County Wins Going Away Against Aspen

Moffat County had won three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they bumped up to 3-7 to make it four. They blew past the Aspen Skiers 28-15. Considering the Bulldogs have won three matches by more than 12 runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Moffat County got a massive performance out of Morgan Cooper, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with three stolen bases, five runs, and two RBI. The dominant performance also gave Cooper a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was Lia Boulware, who went 3-for-4 with six RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

Moffat County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .740. Their OBP was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .571 that Aspen posted.

As for Aspen, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6. On the bright side, the 15- run performance marked their highest-scoring contest to date.

On Aspen's side, Kahler Marsh made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Emily Mavrovic was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Moffat County will have a chance to go back-to-back against Aspen: the pair will be back at it again later today.
