Preview: Upper Perkiomen Indians vs. Perkiomen Valley Vikings
Upper Perkiomen is 0-7 against Perkiomen Valley since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Upper Perkiomen Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Perkiomen Valley Vikings at 6:00 p.m. Upper Perkiomen is hoping to put an end to a 13-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Monday, Upper Perkiomen took a serious blow against Pennridge, falling 65-23. While losing is never fun, Upper Perkiomen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 451st, while Pennridge is ranked 166th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Erin States, who scored seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Kearney, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, Perkiomen Valley put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 75-21 win over Boyertown at home. Considering Perkiomen Valley has won four games by more than 37 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
It was another big night for Grace Galbavy, who scored 31 points. The game was her sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Quinn Boettinger, who scored 15 points.
Upper Perkiomen has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Perkiomen Valley, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.
Upper Perkiomen suffered a grim 58-37 defeat to Perkiomen Valley in their previous matchup back in January of 2022. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Upper Perkiomen was down 44-14.
