Preview: Upper Dublin Cardinals vs. Springfield Township Spartans
Upper Dublin is 10-0 against Springfield Township since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Upper Dublin Cardinals' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Springfield Township Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on December 21st. Upper Dublin will be strutting in after a victory while Springfield Township will be coming in after a defeat.
Upper Dublin scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hatboro-Horsham 65-22 on the road. With Upper Dublin ahead 45-12 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Meanwhile, Springfield Township pushed their score all the way to 59 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 76-59 fall against Lower Moreland. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Springfield Township came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while Lower Moreland is ranked 235th).
Upper Dublin pushed their record up to 7-0 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Springfield Township, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
Everything came up roses for Upper Dublin against Springfield Township in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 53-16 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Upper Dublin since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
