Recap: Old Forge Blue Devils vs. Mid Valley Spartans
The Old Forge Blue Devils lost against the Mid Valley Spartans back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Old Forge fell to Mid Valley 53-49. Old Forge has not had much luck with Mid Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Elise Larson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mid Valley, scoring ten points along with seven assists and six steals. Larson's trending in the right direction, as she's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Chiara Zavislak, who scored 11 points along with five assists.
Old Forge dropped their record down to 1-3 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.8 points per game. As for Mid Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Old Forge will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Holy Cross at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Holy Cross is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Mid Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dunmore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dunmore will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
