Football Recap: Needville Falls Despite Big Games from Cameron Hall and Kobie Campbell

Needville was the 28-21 winner over Navasota when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bluejays fell 42-35 to the Rattlers on Friday. The Bluejays have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Needville's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kobie Campbell, who gained 201 total yards and four touchdowns, and Cameron Hall, who threw for 352 yards and one TD. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 78 yards. A healthy portion of that aerial production (134 yards to be exact) went to Carter Hedt.

Needville suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 3-3. As for Navasota, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Coming up, Needville will challenge Brazosport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bluejays will be up against the Exporters' rather soft defense (which has allowed 42.17 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Navasota, they will head out on the road to square off against Stafford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
