Basketball Recap: Modoc Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Modoc had won two straight games and Katie Erquiaga did her part to make it three on Thursday. The Modoc Braves walked away with a 59-50 victory over the Fall River Bulldogs thanks in part to Erquiaga, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds. What's more, she also posted a 58% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024.

Faith Marquez was another key player, putting up seven points. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

When it comes to explaining why Fall River lost, don't look at Reese Cassity. Despite the final result, she posted 26 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Harris, who put up no points along with 15 boards, five assists, and three steals.

Modoc pushed their record up to 20-8 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.1 points over those games. As for Fall River, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-12.

Looking ahead, Modoc will be playing at home against Hamilton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Modoc knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Hamilton likes a good challenge. Fall River does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
