Baseball Recap: Coon Rapids Cardinals vs. Cambridge-Isanti Bluejackets
Coon Rapids had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 5-15 to make it five. They fell 9-5 to the Cambridge-Isanti Bluejackets. The Cardinals were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bluejackets from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.
Coon Rapids saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Haydon Lundquist, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base was Lundquist's first of the season. L Westkendrick was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
As for Cambridge-Isanti, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-9. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Cambridge-Isanti's side, Blake Wotachek and Tayton Westphal made a big impact while hitting and pitching.
