Softball Preview: Florence Huskies vs. Burlington Cougars

The Florence Huskies will take on the Burlington Cougars at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Florence is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.

On Wednesday, Florence made easy work of Bennett and carried off a 13-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Huskies.

Addison Dalton made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. In other batting news, Brooklyn DeSalvo was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Lilly Roe was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double.

Florence was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Burlington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 19-7 to Wray/Yuma.

Jasmin Robles made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Addalynn Bolin, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Burlington's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Florence, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.
