Baseball Recap: Mountain Valley Falcons vs. Mount Abram Roadrunners
Mountain Valley extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 6-5-1. They lost 10-2 to the Mount Abram Roadrunners. The Falcons were not able to make up for their loss to the Roadrunners from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.
Mountain Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zach McLean, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
As for Mount Abram, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games.
On Mount Abram's side, Brennan Mitchell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave Mitchell a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one triple. He has become a key player for Mount Abram: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-7 otherwise.
