Johnston is a perfect 3-0 against Northwest since May of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Dragons will look to defend their home pitch against Wolves. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Johnston is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Iowa's top teams: Dowling Catholic, who was ranked third at the time (Johnston was ranked 11th). The Dragons blew past the Maroons 5-2 on Friday. The win continues a trend for Johnston in their matchups with Dowling Catholic: they've now won eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Northwest kept a clean sheet against Waukee on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Warriors, sneaking past 1-0.

Northwest's victory bumped their record up to 3-1-1. As for Johnston, their win bumped their record up to 8-3-4.
