Baseball Game Preview: Mount Anthony Patriots vs. Brattleboro Bears

The Mount Anthony Patriots will challenge the Brattleboro Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Mount Anthony has six straight wins, Brattleboro has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Monday, Mount Anthony beat Cambridge 8-3.

Brody Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on three hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mount Anthony's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Carson Andrick, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Brattleboro's offense. They lost 10-0 to Keene on Tuesday.

Brattleboro's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Mount Anthony, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.

Mount Anthony skirted past Brattleboro 3-1 when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
