Softball Recap: Freeman's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Freeman easily dispatched North Andrew on Saturday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Falcons fell just short of the Auburn Bulldogs by a score of 5-3 on Saturday. The Falcons' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Sydney Lenners was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out 15 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits she has allowed over her last nine contests. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Lenners wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Bryleigh Crouse, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Freeman's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Auburn, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Freeman has already played their next game, a 14-0 victory against Wilber-Clatonia on the 13th. As for Auburn, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 5-3 loss against Cameron on the 13th.
