Basketball Recap: Lauralye Kennedy's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Northeastern over Northern York

Northeastern lost against Northern York back in December of 2017 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Northeastern Bobcats took a 47-30 bruising from the Northern York Polar Bears. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 332nd, while the Polar Bears are ranked 14th).

Northeastern lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Lauralye Kennedy, who posted eight points. Nylah Davis was another key player, putting up nine points.

Northeastern's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Northern York, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Northeastern Bobcats duke it out with the Central Dauphin East Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Northern York, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on East Pennsboro at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
