Basketball Game Preview: Sacramento Dragons vs. Calaveras Red Hawks

Two dominant guards in La Ne Dunn and Mariah Maddock are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Sacramento Dragons will welcome the Calaveras Red Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Friday, Sacramento was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 47-41 to Pioneer.

Sacramento might have lost, but man, Dunn was a machine: she dropped a double-double with 24 points and 16 rebounds. Dunn has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 20 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Chrisshaya Haygood, who posted six points along with three steals and three blocks.

Meanwhile, Calaveras ended up a good deal behind Bret Harte on Friday and lost 48-31.

Sacramento's loss dropped their record down to 19-9. As for Calaveras, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-10.
