Basketball Game Preview: Orestimba Warriors vs. Hughson Huskies

The Orestimba Warriors are taking a road trip to take on the Hughson Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Orestimba has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests.

Last Friday, Orestimba didn't have quite enough to beat Hilmar and fell 33-30. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by exactly three points.

Orestimba's defeat came about despite a quality game from Lilly Rocha, who posted ten points and three steals. Natalie Corella was another key player, putting up seven points and seven boards.

Even though they lost, Orestimba smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Meanwhile, Hughson can bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 41-26 win over Sonora.

Hughson's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-14. As for Orestimba, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

Orestimba was able to grind out a solid win over Hughson in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, winning 36-28. Will Orestimba repeat their success, or does Hughson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
