The Johnson County Central Thunderbirds will be taking part in a tournament against the Centennial Broncos at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Johnson County Central has 18 straight victories, Centennial has ten straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
It was a Battle of the Birds when Johnson County Central duked it out with Johnson-Brock on Thursday. The Thunderbirds were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Eagles.
The final score came out to 25-17, 25-8, 25-14.

Johnson County Central found their leader in sophomore Sophia Schmid, who had 15 digs and one assist. Those 15 digs set a new season-high mark for Schmid.
Meanwhile, Centennial came up short against Thayer Central on Thursday, falling 3-0.
The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-17, 25-16.
Johnson County Central will have to contain Meg Hoffschneider as she made an impact in Centennial's last game. She had eight digs.
Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Johnson County Central, their win bumped their record up to 18-0.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday's contest: Johnson County Central has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Centennial struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.2 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
