Football Game Preview: Sinton Pirates vs. Grulla Gators + How To Watch

The Sinton Pirates will challenge the Grulla Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Sinton has three straight wins, Grulla has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Sinton's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They really took it to Rockport-Fulton for the full four quarters, racking up a 31-0 victory. The 31-point effort marked Sinton's lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Mykha Green produced another solid performance rushing for 178 yards and one score while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, and also picking up 38 receiving yards and one TD. Green is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 135 every time he's taken the field this season.

Green was just one part of a punishing run game: Sinton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 243 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rockport-Fulton only rushed for 137.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Sinton's defense and their three sacks. Qwinton Rhines refused to say out of the backfield, picking up two sacks all by himself.

Meanwhile, Grulla took a blow against Port Isabel two weeks ago, falling 42-10.

Grulla's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Sinton, their record now sits at 9-1.

Everything came up roses for Sinton against Grulla when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the squad secured an 84-0 win. Do the Pirates have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Gators turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
