After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Taylor County, Shaw was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over the Hardaway Hawks. Considering the Raiders have won 12 contests by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Skylar Lockhart made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Michayla Bledsoe was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in August. Kaiden McBurnett was another key player, earning one RBI, one run, and three stolen bases.
Shaw always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .692. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Shaw has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. As for Hardaway, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-8.
