Soccer Game Preview: Cottonwood Classical Prep vs. Sandia Prep

The Cottonwood Classical Prep Coyotes are taking a road trip to take on the Sandia Prep Sundevils at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Cottonwood Classical Prep is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against East Mountain on Monday. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw. Cottonwood Classical Prep had to tread lightly for part of the matchup as August Walsh-Dilley and Grasen Willink were both handed yellow cards, which could explain the final result.

Meanwhile, Sandia Prep waltzed into their contest on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Their defense stepped up to hand the Timberwolves a 3-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Sandia Prep, who have now won six matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Cottonwood Classical Prep's draw gives them a new season record of 7-4-1. As for Sandia Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4-1.

Cottonwood Classical Prep might still be hurting after the 5-0 loss they got from Sandia Prep in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Coyotes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
