            Softball Recap: Waverly Vikings vs. Blair Bears        
        
		
        
        
            Waverly extended their postseason success on Thursday against Blair. They came out on top against the Bears by a score of  15-10. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Bears  back in September, they had to take a  12-9  loss.

The team  relied heavily on  Jill Hind, who  fired off three  home runs, five  runs,  and seven  RBI while going 4-for-5. Those  five  runs gave  her a new career-high.  Eva Tucker was another key player,  going 2-for-5 with one  home run and two  RBI.
 Waverly was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .382. They are 16-1 when  they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Waverly has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 23-11 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Blair,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 27-10.
 Looking ahead, Waverly will take on Beatrice at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The Orangemen's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3  runs per game  this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Blair does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
