The Grace Christian Academy Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Fullington Academy Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Grace Christian Academy is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
It was a proper cat-fight when Grace Christian Academy faced off against Crisp Academy on Tuesday. The Cougars blew past the Wildcats 11-1. Considering the Cougars have won six games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Daniel Johnson and Jacob Elkins made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Johnson tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Elkins tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Johnson scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-2, while Elkins scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Elkins has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, Noah Smith was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-4. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. Landon Temples was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Grace Christian Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fullington Academy). They put the hurt on Byne Christian with a sharp 21-6 win on Tuesday. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Saints recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
The team relied heavily on Cutter Tharpe, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. He also hit a triple, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Clay Sangster, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Grace Christian Academy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Fullington Academy, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Grace Christian Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Fullington Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Grace Christian Academy suffered a grim 9-3 defeat to Fullington Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
