Soccer Game Preview: Valwood vs. Berrien

The Valwood Valiants will face off against the Berrien Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

After dropping their season opener at home, Berrien is headed out to face a Valwood team ready to give their home crowd a win. Valwood fell just short of Bainbridge by a score of 3-2 last Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Valiants in their matchups with the Bearcats: they've now lost four in a row.

Everett Baxter and Jed Respess scored both of Valwood's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Berrien was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They fell just short of Fitzgerald by a score of 1-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Valwood came up short against Berrien in their previous meeting back in February of 2018, falling 4-2. Can Valwood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
